October 1, 2020: Full Moon at Aries 9°08’, 5:05 pm EDT.
Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, wants to experience life to the hilt. This is a fire sign - brash and enthusiastic; competitive and impulsive. The Aries Full Moon holds all the characteristics of this sign.
In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Aries is aligned with Kephera, the Spiral Dancer. His symbol is the Scarab, a representation of a beetle holding a ball. The ball is comprised of dung – the excrement of animals – and in the ball are eggs. The parthenogenetic dung beetle is both mother and father of these eggs. Out of manure new life is born.
During this Aries Full Moon, Saturn and Pluto – Sobek, the Old King and Osiris, Lord of Regeneration – are stationary and conjunct. Both are in a challenging relationship to retrograde Mars (Set, the Warrior King) and Eris, Greek goddess of Strife and Discord. The Saturn/Pluto conjunction is the cornerstone of the Great Shift energy that has dominated 2020. This Aries Full Moon is angry and intense; this energy can be overwhelming. And there is also an opportunity.
The name of the Egyptian Sun god – Ra – is contained in the name Kephera. This Egyptian neter symbolizes the rising Sun and the promise of a new day. The purpose of this Saturn/Pluto alignment – the dismantling of the existing container – will soon come to completion. It is time to plan for a new beginning.
During this Full Moon window, acknowledge all that is being dismantled and discarded, both collectively and personally. Agree to let the old way die and turn your attention to the needs of a New Age. Become the change you want to see in the world. Weave kindness and compassion into this process, but do not shy away from your Warrior Self. The building of the New Earth will require focus and determination.
