Jupiter and Mercury Stationary

In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Jupiter – the principle of expansion - is allied with Horus, the Young King. Mercury – communication, transportation, and consciousness – is allied with Thoth, The Sacred Scribe. Jupiter expands anything it comes in contact with and is especially potent when stationary. Jupiter Stationary is currently expanding the effect of Mercury Stationary.

This Mercury retrograde period began on September 26/27, in the air sign Libra, focusing our attention on communication within relationships. With this station of Jupiter in Aquarius the focus now shifts to communication at a collective level.

The Jupiter station comes on the heels of a station of Pluto/Osiris (October 6) and Saturn/Sobek (October 10/11); all three turning direct. In 2020 these three astrological giants spent most of the year in The Great Shift, a powerful conjunction that manifested as the pandemic and a corresponding dismantling of societal structures. While the power of The Great Shift has been subsumed by the ongoing square of Saturn/Uranus, the current stations of these three planets has brought an echo of the energy we experienced in 2020.

The breakdown of effective communication at a collective level is emblematic of the dissolution of a shared consensus reality. Although many would like to return to our pre-Covid reality, that will not happen. It no longer exists. While these changes are difficult, they also provide a fertile opportunity for the creation of a new consensus reality.

Jupiter/Horus turns direct October 18, 1:30 am EDT. Mercury/Thoth turns direct October 18, 11:17 am EDT.
