Leo Full Moon

January 25, 2024:  Full Moon at Leo 5°14’, 12:54 pm EST.

Much is being made of Pluto’s current transition into Aquarius. Many speak of the Aquarian Age, a new 2600-year cycle. This transition is real and will also take time. This is a transformation that has been coming on for the last 240 years and will take years to complete. It is a gradual movement into a whole new way of living on planet Earth.

The challenge of the Aquarian Age will be to create collective systems that honor and protect the rights of the individual while simultaneously honoring and protecting the rights of the collective. We do not yet know how to do this. As the Aquarian influence has picked up steam over the last several years this philosophical question has emerged in our collective consciousness in a myriad of ways.

The effects of this Leo Full Moon will be intensified by a challenging aspect (a square) from Jupiter, the principal of expansion. Pluto is conjunct to the Sun and opposite the Moon. Perhaps most importantly the ruler of Aquarius, Uranus, is stationary and will turn direct on January 27. In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Uranus is allied with Wadjet, the Cobra Kundalini Queen. Both Uranus and Wadjet carry the descriptor of “The Great Awakener.”

When Uranus/Wadjet is strong, events occur in our personal and collective lives that are unpredictable. These events are shattering, but not always bad. Uranus/Wadjet shows up as earthquakes, explosions, and accidents, and also through sudden breakthroughs, realizations, and “ah-ha” moments. This energy is about the shattering of the status quo.

During this Full Moon window, look for your own breakthroughs, your own great awakening. It is there, lurking under the fear and discomfort that often occurs when the status quo is shattered.
