Aquarius is the sign of the collective – an organized body of people. The collective can be large (a society) or relatively small (a work team). The Aquarian ideal is manifested when everyone pulls together for a common purpose. That purpose points to a vision of the future – what that society can be, what that team can accomplish.
Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, discovered in 1781. Aquarius rules inventions that are revolutionary in their time. The discovery of Uranus parallels three revolutions that highlighted a massive redistribution of power at a global level: the American revolution, the French revolution, and the Industrial Revolution.
Individuals with Aquarius strong in their chart are visionaries with their eyes focused on the horizon and are often found in the fields of technology or science. These natives love working on a team and the desires of the team become their intention. They are less comfortable with individuals, particularly when emotions come up. In these relationships, Aquarius can seem standoffish and lacking in empathy.
In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Aquarius is allied with the creator god, Ptah. Ptah is the creator of Heaven and Earth. Ptah created this world through the words that he spoke, and – most importantly – his tongue is connected to his heart. The message is that all we create must come from the heart. If it does not, great damage will follow.
The Sun will remain in the emanation of Aquarius/Ptah from January 19 to February 18.
