It’s Virgo season! Virgo loves the small stuff and this is the place on the Zodiacal Wheel where the details matter. Virgo natives are good at prioritization. When there is much to do and you don’t know where to start, call your Virgo friend. They will help you determine what needs to be done first. This sign is logical, meticulous, and well organized. And, since it is impossible to organize everything, there’s always at least one place where chaos reigns. (Don’t open that closet!)
Virgo, ruled by Mercury, wants to use logic to create order. In the big picture – which Virgo can lose sight of – this is not possible. Chaos will always overcome order. This causes tension for Virgo natives, which leads to the shadow expression of this earth sign – a tendency to become harshly critical of themselves and others, accompanied by anxiety and perfectionism. This expression of Virgo needs to learn the difference between judgment and discernment.
In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Virgo is aligned with Nekhbet, the vulture goddess. Nekhbet is the Crone Priestess, the Wise Grandmother who wants us to become the best version of ourselves and to manifest our soul purpose. She regards us with loving eyes and a firm countenance and asks - “Are you doing what you came here to do?” If the answer is no, she helps us see what must be done first – we must engage in a personal cleansing that will free us from the obstacles that prevent attainment of our highest expression of Service.
Virgo natives often feel a strong call to be of service to others and to our world. During Virgo season we can all ask ourselves this question – “What Service is mine to do and how can I manifest it the world?”
The Sun will emanate through Virgo/Nekhbet from August 22 – September 22.
