April 27, 2025: New Moon in Taurus, 3:31 pm EDT.
The emphasis at this New Moon is on the transition from Pisces to Aries and then to Taurus. The dissolution of the old, the birth of the new from the primordial sea, and the grounding of this new energy in material reality.
We humans are a synthesis of biology and environment. Parents are powerless over the ancestral heritage a child receives, yet they do have some power over the environment. In our collective, something new has been born. We cannot know what this new thing will be, but we can influence its development via conscious thought about what we want to receive.
This New Moon chart contains a T-square between the Sun/Moon conjunction and Mars opposite Pluto, currently slowing to station. Mars opposite Pluto is traditionally an aspect of conflict. Mars in Leo is creative, manifesting, and can be ruthless in the pursuit of power. Mars is approaching the point at which it turned retrograde last December, also opposite to Pluto. This New Moon marks the end of a phase, and we need to honestly assess what has happened in the last five months. The Warrior was on retreat and in their absence, things have changed. We cannot turn back the clock, but we can influence what happens next.
In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Taurus is associated with Hathor, the Earth Goddess. Hathor is lush, loving, and creative. In her shadow lies fierce and furious Sekhmet, the feminine yang. Hathor loves us, nurtures us, approves of us, and we will be wise to respect her and her domain – our beautiful Earth. If we don’t, her retribution will be fierce, furious, and destructive. The power of men is illusionary. The power of nature is real.
